Community and school information

Mustaqbal is a primary and secondary school. The school was founded in 2019 in the 6th section  Estate in baladawo-Gedo-Somalia. The student body is comprised of 260 students (45% girls and 55% boys)

The school is located in a residential and deprived area for vulnerable people, most of whom are unable to pay the school fees also they are not able to afford school uniform. Out of 60 of the students at the school are orphans in addition out of 30 the total student number cannot obtain financial security and are unable to pay school fees.

The school has 12 teachers including principal and deputy principal. Other staff includes two

security guards and driver and the school bus mechanic.

Low school fees are not enough to pay the school staff salaries so some school staff are volunteer hoping to get help, there are 4 volunteer teachers and the school bus mechanic is a volunteer. The school needs volunteers because qualified teachers will refuse job offers because of low salary rates.

The area that the school is located in was not a very adequate place to live before 2019, but now with population numbers rising the area is slowly developing and changing in to a place where businesses and schools are being built. This school being founded in 2019 and with populations rising means that schools must develop with higher level facilities and equipment so education is valued.
